Summer market season kicks off in the Alberni Valley

The Uptown Urban Market is open again for the season. This year they are open three days a week, Friday from noon to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Located on Second Avenue, the market offers products from local bakers, producers, growers and artisans. 250-720-5470.

The weekly craft market at Harbour Quay has opened again for the summer. Open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday through September. The market offers beautiful handcrafted items including furniture, preserves, clothing and home and fashion accessories.

Bike to Work Week takes place May 29 to June 40 in Port Alberni. Has it been a year already? Alberni Aquarium and Stewardship Centre celebrated their one-year anniversary on May 6 with cake, crafts, activities and free admission.
