Breastfeeding challenge at VIRL Alberni
This year marks the fifth year that Port Alberni is participating in The International Breastfeeding Challenge, which acknowledges the importance of breastfeeding to local families.
On Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m., nursing mothers are encouraged to gather at the public library as part of a larger, international network of mothers celebrating breastfeeding. The challenge is held at the same time, on the same day in more than 250 communities around the world.
This year marks the first year the public health unit in Port Alberni will hold the event at the library at Echo Centre, 4255 Wallace St.
Registration starts at 10 a.m. There will be storytime, music, light snacks and door prizes.
