Country Christmas in Alberni

As the Christmas season approaches, our thoughts turn to our families and we dream of having a real old fashioned Christmas.

We smell the scent of a real pine tree, we see the twinkling Christmas lights, and we smell homemade goodies.

Unfortunately, most of us have a “fake” tree, we can’t hang our lights because they are so tangled from last year, and really, who has the time to bake?

But if you want to experience Christmas at its best, Cherry Creek Community Hall is hosting their annual Christmas in the Country craft fair. The event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can enjoy the Christmas ambience over a delicious lunch. Best of all, you will be able to shop for yourself or that special loved in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

There will be crafters galore with an array of gift giving ideas from jewelry to clothing to home décor.

The crafters who come to Cherry Creek Hall always say this is their favourite venue. I always bring my mother-in-law and we have lunch together and I bring my granddaughter so she can choose a one of a kind gift for her mother all on her own. It is a yearly tradition that I always look forward to doing with my family.

Come and visit Christmas in the Country and start your own family tradition.

The late Glenn Wong always organized the New Year’s Eve dance at Cherry Creek Hall.

Wong took great pride in bringing people together to have a good time. Cherry Creek Hall decided to carry on the tradition and again host the annual New Year’s Eve dance.

Tickets will be on sale at the craft fair or call Karen Sparrow at 250-724-5244.
