The all-female jazz ensemble The Leading Ladies Little Big Band is set to make their Port Alberni debut this month. The ‘Ladies’ will be performing at Char’s Landing on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Directed by trombonist Casey Thomas-Burns, this ambitious and dynamic group of young women is quickly making a name for themselves on the Canadian music scene. The band’s repertoire features everything from the beloved 1950s big band classics to modern-day charts written by emerging and Canadian composers.

Despite jazz being a sector historically dominated by men, this new generation of young women is boldly taking their rightful place at the table. This trip to Vancouver Island marks the group’s sophomore tour, following their triumphant debut last year.

Tickets are available at leadingladies.bpt.me or call or text Char at 250-730-1636. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and doors open at 6:30 p.m.
