CHRISTMAS AT THE MILL

Join the Community Arts Council with our “Christmas at the Mill” artisan market on Saturday, Oct. 21 in partnership with McLean Mill.

Get a jump on the holidays while supporting local creatives at this fun, one-day event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The main building and outside courtyard will be filled with artisans of all types, including pottery, glass, jewellery, paintings, wood carvings, paverpol, silk, candles, fabric art, textiles, gnomes, glass crochet and more.

Big Smoke Food truck will also be on site.

WINTER GREENS

The Community Arts Council is selling red, white, pink and marble poinsettias, along with holiday door wreaths and planters, as a fundraiser to help raise funds for future programs and events for both children and adults.

If you are interested in purchasing any, please contact the Grove Art Gallery at 250-724-3412 or stop by in person at Harbour Quay. Orders must be in by Nov. 1 and will be available for pick up on Dec. 1, just in time for the holidays.

Prices range from $7 to $40. Thank you for your continued support!

LIVE AUCTION FUNDRAISER

The Community Arts Council and the Arrowsmith Rotary club are joining forces for a ticketed event celebrating art, music, food and wine.

A special two-week art exhibit will be on display at the Grove Art Gallery at Harbour Quay on Oct. 31. The exhibit will conclude with the main event on Thursday, Nov. 9 starting at 6:30 p.m. There will be a live auction with special guest auctioneer city councillor Charles Mealey, catered food by Grassroots, wine, music by Dennis Olsen and Guy Langlois and a chance to check out the art being auctioned.

Tickets are now on sale at the Grove Art Gallery for $40 (tickets include food and one drink). This is a fundraiser, so all proceeds go to support local arts and artisans, as well as Rotary literacy and bursary programs.

The Grove Art Gallery is located at #7-5440 Argyle Street (Harbour Quay) or call 250-724-3412.

MISTLETOE MARKET

The Community Arts Council is seeking new and past-participating artisans to display their work for the Alberni Valley tradition of Mistletoe Market.
