The Grove Art Gallery has unveiled a holiday extravaganza.

Mistletoe Market runs at the gallery until Dec. 23, allowing patrons to immerse themselves in the festive spirit and pick up gifts crafted by local talents.

The Grove Art Gallery is located at #7-5440 Argyle Street in the Harbour Quay and is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In December, the gallery will be open until 8 p.m. every Friday.

LIGHT UP EVENT

Kick off the holidays at the Harbour Quay with a Christmas Light-Up on Friday, Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m. Visitors can enjoy music from Alberni District Secondary School band students and sing along with Timbre! Choir, snap photos with Santa (donation-based, bring your own camera) and explore Harbour Quay shops until 8 p.m.

The tree lighting ceremony starts at 6 p.m.

MEMBERSHIP APPRECIATION

Community Arts Council members, mark your calendars for Dec. 1 and 2 for Membership Appreciation Days at The Grove Art Gallery.

Enjoy discounts at Mistletoe Market, along with hot apple cider, treats and an opportunity to renew your membership for 2024 at 2023 rates.

HOLIDAY GNOME

Join us on Friday, Dec. 8 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Grove Art Gallery for a festive workshop where you can make your own Holiday Gnome.

This workshop is led by Cheryl Frehlich and the $60 fee covers all materials. Register by calling 250-724-3412 or visit us at the Harbour Quay.

TIMBRE! CHOIR

Timbre! Choir is delighted to be back singing Christmas music.

Please join the choir on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2:30 p.m. at the ADSS Theatre as they sing “A Rhapsody of Christmas.” The choir will be accompanied by Danielle Marcinek on piano. Tickets are available from choir members, the Echo Centre, the Grove Art Gallery, Salmonberry’s, online at eventbrite.ca and at the door.

FIBRE GUILD

The Alberni Valley Fibre Guild is looking for donations of fibre equipment, such as looms and spinning wheels. Since storage is limited, they are requesting only lap- or table-sized looms for now. Equipment will be used for teaching and learning purposes. If you have equipment you would like to donate, please email: WestCoast-Fibre@proton.me.
