SPECIAL TO THE NEWS

The Grove Art Gallery in Port Alberni is stepping back in time.

Join us this Saturday, Sept. 9, where the Grove Art Gallery at Harbour Quay will be hosting an artist meet and greet to celebrate the opening of our new “Back In Time” group art exhibit. Featured artists include Tom and Judy Schmidt, Guy Langlois, Cheryl Frehlich, Phyllis Davenport, Lorne MacNab, Desnesige Zvonarova, Lind Campbell, Mary-Ann McGrath, Janet Finch, Shauna Seigmiller, Sandra Rose, Katie Grieve, Sheri Reed, Victoria Roscoe-Romunais, Faye Hoffman, Ali Penko, Michelle Harding, Sandra Ethier, Jim Sears, Carol Novak, Elizabeth Yeun, Shelley Penner, Cynthia Bonesky, Robert Gunn, Rosemary Wilson, Laurie Blakely and Greg Alkerton.

This art exhibit is centred around photographs of the Alberni Valley, supplied by the Alberni Valley Museum and taken during the turn of the century. Artists were encouraged to create something based on their chosen image. This is truly a fun and exciting exhibit, showcasing some of the Valley’s many creatives.

Join us Saturday, Sept. 9 from 1-3 p.m. at the Grove Art Gallery for some refreshments and an opportunity to meet the artists. The Grove Art Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
