Port Alberni author Marilyn E. Burrows has published the second novel in her Allerton series.
Her second book, They Fish the River, is a suspenseful mystery that follows Elin and her family on a chilling journey filled with family secrets, mysteries and ominious encounters.
Like Burrows’ first book, Down by the River, this one is also set in the fictional community of Allerton. There are some interactions between the characters in both books, but it is not necessary to read Down by the River first in order to understand They Fish the River.
Burrows explained that although this is her second published novel, it’s actually the first one that she wrote. It tells the story of a group of fishers who work together, live together, and take care of one another.
