Mounties nab metal man again in Alberni
A Port Alberni man is facing criminal charges involving scrap metal dealing after being nabbed by an undercover RCMP sting operation.
Acting on a tip received in December, mounties arrested Jean Paul Dumont in January after he attempted to deal in scrap metal contrary to a court order not to.
Dumont was arrested and held in custody overnight. He was released the next day on $2,000 bail and orders not to receive any scrap or discarded metal object of any kind.
In March 2012, Dumont, 63, and Alain Tremblay, 52, were charged with stolen property offences after being caught as the result of a six-month undercover RCMP operation. Dumont was released by the courts on several conditions including not to conduct any business in any way dealing with scrap metal.
Dumont's appears in Port Alberni provincial court on Feb. 7.
