On Monday, Feb. 25, join Beckonings Upcycled Furnishings and Home Decor in Port Alberni and the BC SPCA for the first annual National Cupcake Day.

“It’s going to be like a drop-in tea party,” says Beckonings owner Jennifer Sears. She will transform her store, normally closed on Mondays, into a “tea shop” for this fundraiser. Visitors are welcome to purchase cupcakes for a donation to the SPCA.

Bakers from Lemon Drop and Cup Crave will provide cupcakes, including a vegan option. Silvia Caston will have samples of her steeped teas, including a flavour called Vanilla Cupcake.

Beckonings is located at 4977 Argyle St., just up from Third Avenue.
