Three from Ahousaht dead in Hwy 4 crash
RCMP have confirmed that three occupants of a single vehicle are dead after an accident Sunday afternoon on Highway 4.
All three occupants are believed to be from the Ahousaht First Nation, an RCMP news release said.
RCMP responded to calls of an accident at Marion Creek on Highway 4 at 3:45 p.m, the release noted.
A single vehicle traveling west drove off the right side of the road, rolled over, and burst into flames.
Emergency crews from the Port Alberni Fire Department responded to the scene and doused the flames, Port Alberni Fire Chief Les Norden said.
The RCMP Central Island Traffic Services and an RCMP Traffic Reconstruction unit is en route to the crash scene to investigate.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
