City registers small surplus

Port Alberni is $1 million in the black for 2012, which is more than double 2011's surplus.

The City of Port Alberni is doing well financially, says the city’s auditor, who announced a $1 million cash surplus for 2012.

Don Jones of Duncan, Sabine, Collyer Partners told city council on Monday that the city was $1,011,598 in the black for 2012. In 2011, the city recorded a cash surplus of $431,170.
