Council wants fence back

Fencing around the burnt out remains of former Tidebrook restaurant were removed last week.

Port Alberni city council unanimously voted to install fencing around the former Tidebrook restaurant and then bill the property owner.

Coun. Cindy Solda made the motion after noticing the fence surrounding the burnt out building was removed last week.

“I think there is a safety issue with wires hanging down and an air conditioner hanging there,” Solda told council on Monday. “If we have to wait another month or so [for the building to be torn down], I think there should be a fence.”
