The wind was blowing at 30 knots and gusting more than 34 kts, Thursday afternoon, but two hard-core windsurfers didn't mind: they were in their element, giving people a show off the end of Centennial Pier at Harbour Quay in Port Alberni.
The windsurfers usually launch from Canal Beach, but the beach is being redeveloped and is closed to the public this summer.
