Charles “Chuck” passed away suddenly at home surrounded by family in Port Alberni on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the age of 70 years. Predeceased by mother Elizabeth, brother Randy, and father-in-law Mike; Chuck is survived by loving wife Diana; children Stephen, Raymond, and Trevor (Charety); grandchildren Jordan and Ava-Rose; grand dogs Max, Teeka, Lily, and Mila; siblings Elizabeth, Ray, Laurie, and Bob; mother-inlaw Margery; brother-in-law Arnold (Cheryl); sisters-inlaw Judy, Mavis (Danny), Barbara and Ann, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Port Alberni, Chuck moved to Ucluelet when he was 20 years old to pursue work, and moved back to the Valley two years ago. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing; as well as a woodworker who could build anything, including planters and wishing wells. He also was passionate about sports; coaching both baseball and hockey and playing fastball. Chuck was a devoted family man and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:30pm on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Barclay Hotel, 4277 Stamp Avenue, Port Alberni, BC.
