In Loving Memory ~

Survived by his loving partner Merlyn of 36 years, Don was a Father, a Grandfather and Great Grandfather, he will be terribly missed by his children, close family, relatives and friends.

Don was a local sign specialist, who survived the down turn of the 80's by continuing to work, and moved his Sign Business from down town Qualicum Beach back to his family home. His eye for clear readable signs can still be seen up and down the central island, his specialty was Sand Blasted Signs of wood or granite.

Don never said "it couldn't be done" and created all of Crown Isle's Signage when the golf club opened, and painted the huge Golf Club that was on the Billboard in Nanoose for many years.

He had two passions; the first was music and the second old cars, plus he loved the Canucks.

His 1947 Cadillac was a flat head V8 60's series special, and it was his pride and joy.

His love of Music was started at an early age when he became a member of "the Saints" and continued all his life. He played bass in 17 different bands over the years which were well known for great dance music, especially the band called " Rockit 88".

In 2000 a group of friends got back together from the Teen Town Years in Port Alberni. In 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2008 fantastic reunions were planned with original music and original band members. Don not only played in a band called "the Shants" but spearheaded all the decorations for the arena with his eye for creating unforgettable visual displays.

These reunions were held in the arena in Port Alberni, and 1200 tickets sold out in no time, every time, and everyone danced till the last song was sung.

He will be truly missed by all who

knew him, he was a lovely man.
