Edith passed away peacefully at home with her loving son at her side on February 1, 2016 at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her son David (Sharon). Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Edith moved to British Columbia in the 1960s with her husband and son. She then came to the Alberni Valley in 2012. Throughout her career, Edith was known for being a dedicated employee. She would often stay after her shifts at the Hudson’s Bay cafeteria to clean up any mess that was left so that others could come to work to a clean environment. In her down time, Edith enjoyed painting landscapes and scenery, sewing, and adding decorative touches all around her home. She also loved to go ballroom dancing, especially the waltz and jive. She would spend hours getting ready every Saturday night so she could go dancing and enjoy herself. The thing that Edith loved most in life was being a dedicated, devoted, and loving mother to her son, David. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Following Edith’s wishes, no service will be taking place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC SPCA Alberni-Clayoquot Branch, 4936 Broughton St, Port Alberni, BC., V9Y 8R6.
