We are saddened to announce the passing of Mom at the age of 93. Edna passed away peacefully at the West Coast General Hospital with family by her side.
Mom was predeceased by husband Bill and son Larry; she leaves behind daughter Bev (Trevor) and daughter-in-law Rose (Clark); grandchildren Terri (Doug), Tina (Mario), Leanne, Lorie (Jeff), Tyler (Tammy), Bryce (Tanya) and Travis; great grandchildren Denaye, Kristin, Amber, Shayla, Bryce, Kierra, Dara, Taiya, Talon, Jayden, Branden; great grandson Aiden.
Edna was born in Comox, BC and moved to Port Alberni in 1928. She had many great accomplishments; co-owner of Kennedy Motors, as well as the Honda Shop, working at Clutesi Haven Marina, working as a matron for the RCMP and as a marriage commissioner. Mom loved to travel. She always had lots of jokes and stories to tell. Her favorite place was Beauty Island at Great Central Lake. Mom will be sadly missed by all whoever had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and friends. It was Edna’s wish that no formal service be held. Instead a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
We would like to say a special Thank You to Dr. Smit, the staff at the hospital, Rainbow Gardens and Echo Centre for their wonderful care.
