It is with heavy hearts and saddness,
the family of Emily Irene Jackson
announce her peaceful passing on
June 22, 2016, with her children at
her side, at Fir Park Village in Port
Alberni, BC, where she had been a resident for the last 8 years. Her
family moved her here in 2008 from
Chemainus B.C., to be closer to them. Following the passing of her husband in 1993, Irene continued to live a full life by knitting, quilting, volunteering at the senior centre and thrift shop in Chemainus, as well as making up many baskets of things for the local food banks, like toques, mittens, and slippers: she had containers full of them.
Predeceased by her husband Edward (Lefty); her brother Ken; sister Shirley; son-in-law Frank; daughter-in-law Darlene; she is survived by her son Brian (Doreen); daughter Sherrie; brothers Russ(Aileen), and Jim (Tig) Roe; many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
We will miss her sweet gentle way, her lovely smile, and her sense of humour. She will be forever in our hearts and is now reunited with Dad.
There is no service by Mom’s request. In lieu of flowers please if you wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of B.C, Or Fir Park Village Foundation, in Port Alberni. To read
