ERNEST passed away suddenly in Port Alberni on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the age of 88. Ernest is predeceased by his loving wife, Shirley; his brother Paul Jack, his sisters Lizzie Happynook, Aggie Peters, and Lita Pratt; his eldest son, Irvin Jack, and youngest daughter, Sandra Gallagher. He is survived by his sister Ethel (Eb) Johnson; his eldest daughter, Myrna; his youngest son, Alan; his grandchildren by Myrna, Clayton and Shannon (Jeff Macleod); and his grandchildren by Sandra, John (Crystal) and Richard (David McIvor) and Jackson (Brian Gallagher); and great granddaughter, Ezri Lucille. Born in Numuckimis, B.C. on November 19, 1927, Ernest moved from Dodger’s Cove to Bamfield in 1949, with his wife Shirley and son, Irvin. As his family continued to grow, Ernest moved them to Parksville in 1969 so his children could continue their education. He was a loving and caring father and husband, and became a commercial fisherman to provide for his family. He will be greatly missed. A Prayer Service and viewing will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Chapel of Memories, 4005-6th Avenue, Port Alberni, B.C. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Chapel of Memories, with Rick Lindholm officiating.
