1946 – 2016

It is with overwhelming sadness and grief that we say goodbye to George, Father, Grandfather and love of my life.

George passed peacefully at Ty Watson on November 30th after a short battle with pancreatic cancer We can't thank the staff and volunteers at Ty Watson House enough for their amazing care, kindness and compassion to all of us and for keeping George as comfortable as possible. A huge thank you goes out to Dr. Johnsen, Colleen and Sherri for always being there.

George was born in White Fox, Saskatchewan in 1946. the family moved to Port Alberni when George was nine. A year later they moved to Ladysmith, then to Courtenay and in 1968 Gorge moved to Powell River to work in the mill where he applied and got his millwright ticket. In 1990 he transferred to the M&B mill in Port Alberni.

When in Powell River he was on a bowling team as well as badminton and competed in tournaments. He coached his daughter's baseball and team and for awhile coached badminton students in Port Alberni.

George loved to work with his hands and built houses with the Father, doing renovations to his own home as well as helping his son with his. He built an outdoor play set for his grandchildren, a picnic table, a shed, as well as many other things which gave him so much joy.

George is survived by his partner of 24 years, Elaine, son Adam (Holly), grandchildren Aiden and Ming, daughter Zoe (Doug), grandchildren Raymond, Ashley, Andrew as well as sisters Shirley (Ivan), Dorothy, (Mel, deceased), Jean (Carl), Tammy plus nieces and nephews, also Elaine's daughter Michelle (Mikkel).

Thank you to Chapel of Memories for your help, compassion and getting George ready for his final journey.

George we will love you forever and miss you every second of every day. Rest in peace, my Love.
