“The song is ended, but the melody lingers on...” Rena died at Ty Watson House October 17 surrounded by her daughters. She is also survived by her son Graham. She emigrated from Falkirk, Scotland in 1948 landing in Halifax. She worked as a children’s nurse until, two years later, she met her future husband, Wallace. She was a loving mother who often sang songs from “the Old Country” and instilled a love of books and reading in her children. To the end she maintained her great sense of humor and dry wit. Wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and sister she will be missed. Rena and Wally died one month short of their 65th wedding anniversary The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Depape for his years of excellent care, Dr. Wendy Johnsen, Dr. Ben Williams, WCG Liason Nurses, Home Support Services, Home Care Nursing, especially Colleen and the caring staff and volunteers at Ty Watson House. Without all of their commitment and caring, Rena and Wally would not have died well. Cremation has taken place. No service by request. A gathering of family will take place at a later date. Donations made to Ty Watson House, Alberni Valley Hospice Society in Rena or Wally’s name would be appreciated.
