Nikota, Michael John • December 1, 1978 – April 15, 2016 • It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Nikota. Mike lost his battle with cancer on April 15th, 2016 at the age of 37. Mike had a passion for the outdoors and spent much of his time quading, fishing, and camping with friends and family. He enjoyed his work doing home renovations and took special interest in
gardening and bonsai. Mike took pride in sharing his acquired knowledge by helping those around him and wanted to be remembered as “handy as shit.”
Mike will be forever missed by his family and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Jody Dawn, at birth. Mike leaves behind his wife, Traci; daughter, Emerson; son, Jack; parents, Barb and Dennis; brother, Jason; in-laws, Barb and Steve Kalugin and Grant Bingham; sister and brother-in-law, Chrissy and Kyle Alarie; nephew, Hunter; and niece, Mackenzie. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held in the AV Macan Hall at the Nanaimo Golf Club, 2800 Highland Blvd, Nanaimo on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM.
