Robert passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the West Coast General Hospital at the age of 91. Predeceased by his first wife Phyllis and brother Charles; Robert is survived by loving wife Bertha; son Richard (Freda); step daughters Cindy Sawatsky (Guy) and Sherry Legault; grandchildren Reese, Carly, Ethan, Clinton as well as extended family. Born in Ontario, Robert was a veteran of the Air Force during World War II. Robert came to the Alberni Valley in the mid-90s after retiring from Alcan in Kitimat, BC. He was very involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, August 13, 2016 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4815 Compton Road, Port Alberni, BC with interment at Greenwood Cemetery following service.
