To the Editor,

There appears to be an epidemic of monochromacy or achromatopsia (colour blindness) in our city. It appears most drivers cannot distinguish between red, yellow or green.

The fine for running a red light is $167, plus two ICBC points which results in a significant increase in insurance rates. However, those in authority who could correct the dilemma are made conspicuous by their absence.

R.L. (Dusty) Miller,

Port Alberni
