Letters to the Editor

Writer misses Stacey Gaiga already

To the Editor,

I am truly saddened by Stacey Gaiga’s pulling out as a mayoral candidate in the Port Alberni civic elections, believing her reasons are of the highest regard.

We as citizens of Port Alberni, and I can speak for many who admired Stacey’s honest reverence for openess in the ‘operations’ of our city, will experience a feeling of hopelessness with Stacey stepping out of this election.

Stacey Gaiga was a breath of fresh air indeed.

May this decision of hers open a much needed investigation of the practices of our existing platform at city hall—more specifically, its leadership.

I believe the awesome show of support in numbers for new representation in council is also support of the changes necessary to improve and grow.

Our town is now so ready for this new positive growth and positive support.

This new,  well-aged fertilizer is imperative for the burst forth and flowering of new aspiring representatives that will make Port Alberni grow with agreed-upon support for all the changes so despirately needed for healthy bloom.

We all know what we want and it is the moving forward with open honesty as to where our dollars are allocated.

Miss you, Stacey Gaiga.

Darlene Ross,

Port Alberni
