Odd couples play in Alberni Golf Club tourney
Don McGowan won a modified Stableford event at Alberni Golf Course last Sunday, Sept. 2. Other winners, in order, were Gary Korven, Vic Carlton, Gordon Cutting, Kevin Carlton, Wolf Suhr, and Jerry Swaney.
Closest to the pin winners were Jacques Giovetti on No. 2, Bob Price on No. 13 and Preban Rasmussen on No. 17.
Gerry Fagen collected $15 for winning the charity closest to the pin on No. 4.
Next Sunday, Sept. 9 will see what the club captain is calling The Odd Couple Tournament. The format will be two-man teams: pick your own partner and use one score card per team.
The procedure is use the score of the first name on the card on the odd numbered holes and the second name on the even numbered holes. Use one score per hole, net and gross.
There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Long drives and short putts, everyone!
