Bartow, Tkach win all-around titles at Alberni logger sports

Brian Bartow and Danielle Tkach, both familiar names in logger sports on the West Coast, took all-around logger titles at the Alberni District Fall Fair Sept. 9.

Bartow won the tree climbing event with a time of 19:16 seconds and also won the stock saw open category with a score of 7.50. He finished second in the open log birling event, choker race and obstacle pole bucking events, all behind Wade Stewart of Nanoose.

Tkach was third in hot saws, second in novice log chopping, and won the ladies' single bucking, ladies' axe throw, ladies' double bucking (with partner Kat Spencer) and Jack and Jill bucking (with partner Wayne Poulsen).
