Alberni golf: Get your Irish on
Sixty four players teed it up last Sunday for the Toronto Dominion Bank Irish four ball. Low gross winners were the team of Fred Fredrickson, Ted Stewart, Tom Hennesy and Dean Sawyer.
In second place was the team of Sam Parhar, Brett Parhar, Ken Fong and Vito Caldarula. The final gross prize went to Preban Rasmussen, Wayne Johnston, Jim Lawler and Frank Hastings.
On the net side first place was taken by C. Gardner, Al Wright, Glen Trask and Paul Saulnier followed by Gary Korven, Sandy Duguid, Livio Tedesco and Keith Randall.
Third place went to Tom Thompson, Rick Thompson, Gord Unger and Peter Mugleston.
Closest to the pin winners were Jim Proteau on No. 2, Ted Stewart on No. 13 and Jaques Giovetti on No. 17. Ben Randall collected $43 for the Charity Closest to the Pin on No. 4.
Next Sunday sees the season wind up sponsored by Dave Gray Contracting.
The format will be a four man best ball with the best two net and the best two gross counting on each hole.
Besides golf prizes there will be many door prizes which you have to be in attendance to win. There will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. so please be there at least 15 minutes ahead of time. Make up your own foursomes and register in the pro shop or as a single and Brian will put you on a team.
