Port Alberni Black Sheep lose to Westshore

The Port Alberni Black Sheep kicked off the second half of their Vancouver Island Rugby Union season with a 38–27 road loss to Westshore.

Jordan Kurucz was hot for the Black Sheep, scoring a try and kicking two conversions and a penalty kick.

Ty Shannon picked up a pair of tries for the Sheep, and Asaeli Rokotuiwakaya rounded out Port Alberni’s scoring with another try.

Both teams picked up single bonus points in Cowichan Cup play.

The Black Sheep are on their home pitch this Saturday, Jan. 28 for an exhibition game against Comox Kickers, starting at 1 p.m.

The Black Sheep will play a rescheduled TC Cup final against Nanaimo in Hornets territory on Feb. 11.
