The numbers keep going up, as 71 players participated in the four-man best gross and best net event held at the Alberni Golf Course on Sunday, April 21.

The overall winner on the gross side was the team of Troy Rata, James Haggard, Darcy Haggard and Cody Breuker, carding a 69, Next was Mike Savard, Chris Owen, Brandon Wells and Murry Hawkeness (also with 69), followed by the group of Justin Sketsch, Colton Buffie, Josh Harvey and Keegan Fedorko with 70. Then came Kole Poulson, Noah Deighton, Andre Savard and Jess Black with 72.

On the net side, with a score of 59, was the team of Darren Bellas, Greg Eyford, Jason Pley and Brian Chipman. Also carding a 59 was the foursome of Darren Van Dyk, Steve Pointon, Dave Mann and Phil Anker. Third low net goes to the team of Hank Krahn, Terry Elwood Keith Elwood and Matt Morsay with 61. The final net prize goes to the group of Preben Rasmussen, Robin Corse, Scott Staley and Peter Mugleston, carding a 62 All ties were settled by retrogression.

The closest to the pin on No. 2 was won by Josh Harvey, No. 4 and 13 were won by Colin Hamilton and No. 17 was won by Kole Poulsen. The charity closest to the pin on No. 7 was Ethan Aston, who collects $106.50. Kole Poulson won $123 for the only birdie on No.17. All other par 3s were halved.

Next Sunday is the stableford event, sponsored by Creekers Liquor Store. The format is as follows: double bogie or worse is -1 points, a bogie is 0 points, a par is 1 point, a birdie is two points, an eagle is three points and all others are four points. It’s every man for himself, so make sure you turn in a completed card.

Please book your own time in your own group starting at 8 a.m. and going to 10 a.m. The cost for the day is $15, which includes prizes, the deuce pot, closest to the pins on all par 3s and the charity closest to the pin on No. 7.
