What’s with all this wind? Although the sun was shining for the Alberni Golf Club’s men’s club on Sunday, there was a cool breeze blowing. Never fear, in a few days the course will be dry enough to get the mowers in to cut the grass. That will make playing a lot more enjoyable.

Even with the conditions less than ideal there were some impressive scores on Sunday. The low gross of the day was recorded by Colton Buffie shooting 73, followed by Vito Caldarulo with 76, then Colin Hamilton carding a 79.

On the net side of the day, Matt Mesic had the low score shooting 65, then came Steve Pointon with 70, and Jack Sparks with 71, followed by Preben Rasmussen recording a 72, Cal Davies, Chris Owen and Tyler Ibsen all shooting 75.

Closest to the pin were won by Preben Rasmussen on No. 2, Colin Hamilton on No. 4, Tylo Smith on No. 13 and Matt Mesic on No. 17. As there were no outright winner on 2 & 4 Sunday, next week they will be worth $100 each.

Next Sunday is the first sponsored event of the season, we thank GD Auto for their contribution to the day. It will be the stableford play your own ball event. Please register in the Pro. Shop for the 9 AM Shotgun start. Just a refresher on the scoring system for the stableford. Double bogie or worse minus 1, Bogie 0, Par plus 1, Birdie plus 2, Eagle plus 3 and a double eagle plus six.
