Forty-two men teed it up for the G.D. Auto sponsored stableford event held on Sunday, May 21. The weather was sunny and warm, with many players wearing shorts for the first time this season.
First of all a big congratulations to Cal Davies, who on Wednesday, May 17 got a hole-in-one on No. 2 using his trusty seven-iron. Way to go, Cal!
The winner of the stableford, compiling 23 points, was yours truly: Gerry Fagan. Yahoo! Next with 21 points was Tyler Ruel, followed by Glen Trask and Colin Hamilton each with 20 points.
Then came Terry Rai, Jim Proteau and Darrell VanOs with 19 points each. Recording 18 points were Gary Korven and Mike Savard, following with 17 points was Matt Mesic, Al Wright, Colton Buffie, Lloyd Fairley, Dan Cheetham and Brent Tall.
Closest to the pin winners were Jack Sparks on No. 2; charity closest to the pin on No. 4 was James Weening, also collecting $25. On No. 13 was Gary Korven and No. 17 went to Tyler Ruel.
Next Sunday is the Chapman Style Alternate Shot event, sponsored by Haggards Trucking. This will be a two-man event. You both tee off every hole, and from there you hit each others’ drive. Then you alternate shots until you are in the hole.
Please register with your partner in the pro shop no later than 2 pm Saturday, May 27. Remember: this is an 8:30 am shotgun start.
