The Young Professionals of the Alberni Valley unveiled their bike rack program at Harbour Quay during Earth Day celebrations on Saturday.
The non-profit group worked for the past two years on finding a common design for the racks, as well as signing on community sponsors like the Port Alberni Rotary Club, which donated several hundred dollars to get the project rolling.
Racks have slowly begun appearing around the Alberni Valley, especially around Harbour Quay, and will be placed in front of sponsoring businesses on Lower Johnston Road and elsewhere in the coming weeks.
