The three-day Championship Dog Show presented by the Alberni Valley Kennel Club at the Port Alberni's Glenwood Centre was a howling success.
Local residents stopped by to check out the many breeds of dogs at various stages of grooming, showing and napping.
Each of the three days had Best Overall winners. On Saturday, Oct. 19, Willow Bertrand and her boxer Lollypop took best overall. Sophie Miller and her dog Archie, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, took first place and Anneli Nathani had her golden retriever Lucy take first place in intermediate novice. Travis Mercer took best overall in the puppy category with his Chow Chow Otis.
