The city of Port Alberni will be holding another Our Town celebration on Tuesday, July 24, this time at Gyro Rec Park.

Not all heroes wear capes and masks—some even live right here in Port Alberni. Next Tuesday, come out and celebrate real life heroes, with a chance to meet Port Alberni’s heroes from the fire department, RCMP, BC Ambulance and Search and Rescue.

There will also be plenty of fun. Participants can enjoy face painting, crafts, parachute games, sidewalk chalk, bowling, giant bubbles, playground activities and an obstacle course sponsored by Twisted Willow Studio. Children will also love the enourmous sandbox provided by Dolan’s Concrete and helium balloons courtesy of Alberni Engineering.

There will be a treasure hunt challenge with prizes donated from Quality Foods, and visitorscan enjoy hot dogs provided by the Gyro Club and sno cones provided by the Kiwanis Club.

Dress up in your best real life hero costume and come to Gyro Rec Park (3245 7th Avenue) for an evening of fun between 6-8 p.m. Admission is free.
