Dana Durmuller found the third and final golden ticket in a chocolate bar she bought at Coombs Country Candy.

The third and final golden ticket has been found in Port Alberni's annual Valley Vonka fundraiser.

Dana Durmuller came in just before the Sept. 25 deadline with a golden ticket she had found in a chocolate bar picked up at Coombs Country Candy.

Now that all three golden tickets have been turned in, a draw will take place Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. at Coombs Country Candy to determine how the three prizes will be distributed. There are three prizes to win: a big-screen TV from The Brick; two nights at Tigh-na-Mara Resort in Parksville; and $500 in gas/ grocery gift cards.

Also on Oct. 2, the winner of the Valley Vonka colouring contest will be announced. The winner will receive free chocolate and books for a year from Coombs Country Candy and Mobius Books.

The Alberni Valley News teamed up with Coombs Country Candy to offer 1,000 milk or dark chocolate bars for the annual Valley Vonka contest, which is modelled after the classic book (and three movies) by Roald Dahl, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Three golden tickets were hidden among the bars, which were sold for a suggested donation of $4 each at 12 participating sponsors.

The proceeds from Valley Vonka benefit the Literacy Alberni Society Raise-a-Reader campaign. Funds are partially matched by Raise A Reader.

Alberni Valley News publisher Teresa Bird thanked participating sponsors who sold Valley Vonka bars this year:
