Global vision nothing new for Alberni student, rest of her class

Students in Kama Money's Social Justice 12 class at Alberni District Secondary School are raising money, awareness for global programs.

Nancy Wilmot from Shaw Television takes a look at the methods that students in Kama Money's Social Justice 12 class at Alberni District Secondary School are doing to raising money, awareness for global programs.

One such program is Be(ad) the Change, led by Dayle Carter, who since she was in Grade 7 has been raising money to help a school for street children in Mbarara, Uganda. Port Alberni missionary Pat Kokura helps run the school, and Carter has raised money to buy goats for the school among other things.

Carter said she helps because the Ugandan students deserve the same kind of education and opportunities in their country that she has received here in Canada.
