Haunts, howls and Halloween skating in Port Alberni

There were plenty of spooky events to be found around the Alberni Valley on Halloween weekend

There were plenty of spooky Halloween events to be found around the Alberni Valley this year.

The City of Port Alberni hosted a pair of free skating events at the Glenwood Centre and the Alberni Valley Multiplex.

On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Beaver Creek Community Hall hosted their annual Halloween Howl. There were plenty of activities both inside and outside the hall, including a spooky walk along a decorated trail.

Also on Saturday, McLean Mill National Historic Site played host to “The Haunting,” which was a fundraiser for ADAPS (Alberni Drug & Alcohol Prevention Service). For younger children, there was a trick or treat village along the historical buildings and some arts and crafts in the dining hall. For the braver visitors, volunteers had decorated the mill and transformed it into a spooky path. The Port Alberni Fire Department also had a truck and demonstration on site.
