Help make the holidays a little easier for people in Port Alberni this year by helping to "Stuff the Bus" with BC Transit.

The annual charitable collection event will take place Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024.

A BC Transit bus will be parked outside of Walmart on upper Johnston Road  in Port Alberni from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. where staff and volunteers will help people load their donations on the bus. They are asking for donations of non-perishable food and toys, gift cards or cash, all of which will be given to the Salvation Army for distribution.

This will be the fourth year for Stuff the Bus in Port Alberni. Last year's event collected more than 1,200 pounds of donations.

Donations are given to the Salvation Army to distribute through its many Christmastime and other programs.

"Stuff the Bus" is one of several BC Transit-led events happening around British Columbia to help celebrate the holidays. Other events include parades and light tours.
