Port Alberni Friendship Centre’s Carey Karlsson has fun with her daughter Lilah on Monday afternoon. The Karlssons will be at the “Here We Come” event at the centre on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Food, fun, as well as health and wellness are on the menu for families at the Port Alberni Friendship Centre on Saturday.

“Here We Come — Playing All The Way” is being held at the centre from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is geared towards children age 3-5 but families and older children are

also welcome.

Various service agencies will be on hand to answer questions about children’s vision, dental and speech.

Activities such as crafts, Playdough, art and doll houses will be interspersed throughout the gym.

“Families can connect with agencies  and ask questions in an environment that is both fun and comfortable,” School District 70 spokesperson Stacey Manson said.

The event has been running for 10 years.

It started as several events at several schools, but is now held at one location, which rotates yearly.
