Members of Port Alberni’s Métis community had plenty of fun last month with a family luncheon hosted at Eighth Avenue Learning Centre.
The event, hosted by the Alberni Clayoquot Métis Society and Métis Nation British Columbia, started with an opening prayer done by Cayleigh Borsboom. More than 100 people attended the event, which featured food, games for the children and Sharky Balloons, as well as plenty of draws and door prizes.
The event was held as part of Métis Family Connection, which is a program that connects Métis families to their community and culture and links them to early years programs and services in their community. If you would like more information, call toll free 1-800-940-1150.
The event was so successful that organizers are planning another luncheon at Eighth Avenue Learning Centre on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 1-4 p.m. Keep up to date with the Alberni Clayoquot Métis Society on Facebook.
