Port Alberni’s Parks and Recreation department kicked off the 2018 summer Our Town series with a Wild West theme at Blair Park, complete with hay rides, goats, sheep, horse rides, entertainment, games and crafts with a western theme.
Tonight (Tuesday, July 24) they’re calling all heroes to Gyro Recreation Park for, well, a heroes’ welcome! Activity kicks off at 6 p.m. with a hotdog roast and sno’ cones, a scavenger hunt, giant bubbles, bowling, and some real live heroes for the kids to talk to. Everything wraps up at 8 p.m.
There are two more Our Town events planned, a Mexican Fiesta and Starlight Movie Night on Aug. 9 at Bob Dailey Stadium and Take to the Sky on Aug. 21 at Harbour Quay.
