Members of the Golden Oldies Car Club, including president Glenn Anderson, vice-president Phil McMillan, treasurer Steve Gillis and secretary Nina Holm present Jacob Potter, second from right, with a $1,000 bursary for mechanics at North Island College (NIC).

Jacob Potter will be able to breathe a little easier the next time he walks into one of his mechanics classes at North Island College (NIC).

The Golden Oldies Car Club recently presented Potter with a $1,000 bursary. President Glenn Anderson, vice-president Phil McMillan, treasurer Steve Gillis and secretary Nina Holm made the presentation at a club meeting in early October.

The Golden Oldies are known for their annual summer car show 'n' shine, which in 2024 was held in July at Gyro Williamson Park. More than 60 vehicles entered the show, which drew crowds despite the heat.
