Nicole Stauffer, 12, shows off her mixed fibre work of art that she created at the Grove Gallery at Harbour Quay on Saturday, March 29.

To celebrate an upcoming play, the Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley has been offering free drop-in kids’ art classes at The Grove Art Gallery.

The next session will take place on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Harbour Quay gallery. This drop-in class is completely free and open to all, with no registration required. Children can stop by at any time during the session to explore, create, and engage with the themes of the play, The Great Bloom.

During these creative sessions, children will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of The Great Bloom. They will be invited to step into the story’s magical forest, create their own characters and explore the indigenous plants that shape the setting of the play.

The live performance of The Great Bloom takes place on Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m. at the ADSS Auditorium.
