The Mid-Island Kidney Association (MIKA) held its semi-annual draw for spring in Port Alberni recently. Patients in the dialysis unit picked out the winning ticket stubs from the bag that MIKA member Ed Martin was holding.
First place of two $125 gift certificates (one for Quality Foods and one for Tyler's No Frills) went to Scott Dennis. Tina Massop won second prize, which was a $100 gift certificate for the Co-op. Alice George won the third place prize, a $50 gift certificate to Boomerangs Cafe.
The next fundraising draw will be held in the fall. Members of MIKA are grateful for the public's overwhelming support of their raffles.
All money raised goes to help Port Alberni's dialysis centre and local patients.
