The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley will host a different sort of craft market at McLean Mill in October: a Dark Arts Market, coinciding with the annual Haunting at the Mill event.

This Halloween, McLean Mill is set to transform with its annual ‘a Haunting at the Mill’ event, promising to draw big crowds of lovers of all things spooky! Coinciding with this popular event for the first time will be the “Dark Arts Market,” hosted by the Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley.

This special market will feature local artists, crafters and vendors to sell their creations and/or host craft workshops, all around themes that celebrate the season.
Scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 27, the Dark Arts Market aims to offer both a spooky experience in line with the Haunted Mill and a less intimidating option for those seeking milder Halloween festivities. The event begins on Saturday from 3–9 p.m. and continues into Sunday from 12–5 p.m., ensuring ample time for guests to explore a variety of artistic offerings.

The arts council is seeking applications from artists and vendors across all styles and mediums. The focus is on those who can bring creativity and quality to the event, enhancing the Halloween theme with spooky, mystical, or autumn-inspired products. In addition to seeking vendors who sell their work, we invite those who can contribute through interactive workshops, adding an educational and engaging layer to the market experience.
