The Grove Gallery is proud to present “STOP & THINK: A Youth’s Perspective on Art, Social Justice, and Climate Change,” an evocative student art exhibit showcasing the creativity and passion of Alberni District Secondary School Students. This powerful exhibit features artwork centred on pressing social causes, such as social justice and climate change, reflecting the concerns and hopes of our youth.
Students were asked to create work based on anything they are passionate about, resulting in an array of amazing, thought-provoking pieces guaranteed to inspire and challenge viewers.
Join us for a meet and greet on Saturday, June 8 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to engage with the artists and discuss their work. The exhibit runs from June 3 to June 22 at the Grove Art Gallery, located at 5440 Argyle Street (Unit 7) at Harbour Quay.
Special support is provided by the Port Alberni Toy Run—which will be providing awards to the most profound works aligning with the exhibit’s themes—and Neighbourhood Small Grants, which has provided funds to support the students’ artistic practice.
Visitors are encouraged to vote for the most compelling artwork, with awards given based on public votes. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the future of art and activism.
