The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley is calling on arts enthusiasts and community-minded individuals looking for a fun and meaningful way to spend a few hours this summer. If you’ve been searching for an easy way to connect with your community while supporting the arts, now is the perfect time to get involved.
We are seeking a variety of volunteers with different skill levels for a number of events. First off, hop onboard the MV Frances Barkley for our Solstice Crafty Cruise on Friday, June 20 (must be aged 19-plus). We are looking for helpers to serve food, drinks and craft materials.
If you enjoy a social atmosphere and want to be part of a vibrant event filled with music, local food, and hands-on creativity, then don’t miss this fundraiser down the Alberni Inlet!
Next, we are seeking volunteers with a knack for hospitality to help serve tea and food at our beloved Teas at the Mill events, held at McLean Mill National Historic Site. These events, held on Sundays in July and August, merge art and history; providing a memorable experience for seniors and kids. Helping at the teas is a perfect excuse to dress up in your favourite fancy, summery outfit.
For those who love teaching art, we are seeking volunteers who can assist in our Children’s Arts Camps, planned for July and August at Harbour Quay. If you enjoy working with children and have an interest in arts education, this is the place for you.
This role offers valuable experience in teaching, leadership, creativity and is especially ideal for those considering a future in education, childcare, or community arts.
Finally, we are seeking volunteers who may not be into events at all. Join us in gallery painting signs, distributing posters, and hanging artwork.
Volunteering with the arts council offers more than just a chance to help out, it is a way to give back to the community, form new friendships, and even build skills that can support future employment or personal development. Whether you are new to volunteering or a long-time supporter of the arts, we welcome your energy, creativity, and time.
To get involved or to learn more about upcoming opportunities, please reach out to us at gallery@alberniarts.com or call (250) 724-3412.
