The Community Arts Council, sponsored by Capitol Theatre and the Kurucz family, will be holding a concert fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre.
After five years of playing at the Teas on the Terrace, the Travelers—all members of the Kurucz family—will perform their first theatre concert to benefit the Rollin Art Centre.
Expect a special tribute to Remembrance Day at the beginning of the concert, then stroll down memory lane with an interactive, sing-along afternoon with the likes of Peter, Paul and Mary, Eddy Arnold, Harry Belafonte, Anne Murray, John Denver, Journey, The Bee Gees and more.
The Travelers— Paul, Tatyanna and Jairynn Kurucz—are known for putting a folk twist to both old and new songs.
Joining the Kurucz family will be Katelyn Perry, a bright, up-and-coming performer from the Comox Valley.
Tickets are on sale at Rollin Art Centre and Happy Soles Foot and Nail Care at 250-720-0397. Advance tickets: $10 or $12 at the door.
Arts Council AGM coming up

Art for the kids’ senses
Join artists Kelly Poirier and Dorothy Jarvis at Rollin Arts Centre, when the centre hosts two children’s art workshops:
• “Sense”sational Saturday for children ages five to nine years, for younger children where we will explore the styles of different artists from Jackson Pollock to Matisse using all kinds of fun techniques.
• “Georgia and the Garden” is a multi-media (watercolour, pastel, acrylic, ink, charcoal) exploration of the work of Georgia O’Keefe, for seven- to 12-year-olds.
